PS4 and Xbox One Launch: You may not need to buy them yet

Well, it is almost time for next-gen launch which will become current-gen on November 15th and November 22nd.

With the PS4 and the Xbox One making their way to store shelves and Amazon warehouses as we speak, I wanted to  ask the question one last time. Do we need to buy a PS4? Do we need to keep the Xbox One pre-order? And for the crazy ones, do we need to buy both consoles at launch?

Xbox 360 PS3 Top 10

Many of us are excited to play all of the new hot games at the beginning of a new console generation. Remember the PS3 and Xbox 360 launches? There was nothing worth spending the 400 or 600 Dollars on back in 2005 and 2006 – in hindsight that is.

The same may be true for 2013.

The Xbox One has a few console exclusives worth keeping your fingers crossed for and so does the PS4 but the many cross-generation games like Assassin’s Creed IV, Call of Duty or Battlefield look  and play very well on the PS3 or Xbox 360 – not to mention games like GTA V, Beyond Two Souls or the Last of Us to name a few which are all current-gen only games.

Will the $500 Xbox One be money well spend for Ryse or Forza 5? Will the PS4 not make you regret the 400 bucks you spent on the Sony box for Killzone Shadow Fall?

In the end these are questions you need to answer for yourself but I wouldn’t feel right not asking them.
