At today’s VGX’s Remedy took a seat in the couch and revealed some details to Quantum Break’s gameplay and just how it will play. Quantum Break will be a fully playable experience with multiple playable characters and is tied into an episodic live action TV show with the same people that are also in the game.
A time travel related experiment goes wrong, the end of time is coming. Jack and Beth are the two playable characters who will gain time related powers when the experiment fails. Another person gaining powers is the bad guy Paul Serene who was also there – he is also playable at times during the game and runs the evil corporation called Monarch.
Time freezes or skipping will make the game feel next-gen says Remedy which is a mix between Alan Wake and Max Payne’s gameplay. Players will be able to skip and freeze time during combat and otherwise. All, not yet revealed powers, will be needed to combined in order to beat the game which sounds complex. There will be cover based shooting as well as it is one of the signature elements of Remedy’s titles.
