Why we will see Fallout 4 at E3 2014

Bethesda has made maybe my favorite RPG of this generation with Fallout 3. It was certainly my favorite opening in a game in recent years. When I emerged from the vault and overlooked the desert, realizing I could go anywhere I wanted, I just stood there for a while and admire the world. The year was 2008 and Bethesda had me so hooked that I spent over 100 hours  playing the game – twice!

Since then Bethesda has released a new Elder Scrolls game in 2011 with Skyrim which was an excellent experience as well but didn’t have me as hooked as Fallout 3.

At E3 2014 nearly another 3 years will have passed since the team responsible for those titles and we should see some news in regards of a new Bethesda open world game.

Since the last title was an Elder Scrolls game that since received many DLC packs, it will be time for a new Fallout game. With the generational shift this year Bethesda will be able to harness the extra processing power from the Xbox One and the PS4 to build an even larger and more detailed world.

We are ready for a new Fallout game – it has been 5 years!

While we did get Fallout New Vegas from Obsidian Entertainment in 2010, it just wasn’t a Bethesda game even though many argue that it had more interesting systems and features that impacted the world.

With every game that Bethesda develops, it builds on top of its solid platform which has gotten better and better since the first Elder Scrolls on consoles in 2006. The only question: Where will it be set?
