From the makers of Left 4 Dead comes EVOLVE

Today Game Informer (GI) revealed their new cover story which features Evolve, a brand new IP which was purchased by 2K Games (Take Two) during the THQ auction for a whooping $10.8 Million.

The game is being developed by Turtle Rock Studios which was responsible for Valve’s groundbreaking 4 player coop shooter Left 4 Dead which is about the best news I have heard this year! I know, that was cheeky. GI says that this is a Next-Gen only IP which means no reason for Turtle Rock to look back and sacrifice any functionality for cross-generation needs. I am liking this more and more!

“The sci-fi multiplayer-focused shooter pits a four-player crew of alien hunters against a separate player-controlled monster that grows larger and more powerful over the course of matches”, says Game Informer. If you remember Left 4 Dead added infected gameplay where players took over the special infected enemies.

Each hunter features its own unique items and abilities, and while the monster may be outnumbered, its size and an assortment of devastating attacks make it a more than formidable foe. Like Turtle Rock’s previous titles, Evolve is being built with variety and replayabilty in mind; the result is a novel mix of cooperative and competitive multiplayer elements that’s unlike anything we’ve played before. Our exclusive hands-on time with the game’s four-versus-one hunt mode left us with plenty to be excited about, and you can get all the details in this month’s issue.

Much more into is to come when the issue launches including hands on impressions and more images and screenshots. Color us very excited. The game will launch on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
