Here’s a new one for you thieving gamers. Today Amazon and Square announced a collaboration that has led to the ‘Ultimate Thief Mod Contest’, along with partners like AMD and The Dark Mod guys as a celebration of the upcoming reboot of the beloved stealth franchise.
Starting today, Square Enix challenges the Thief and modding communities to create some fresh new ideas ranging from things like ‘creating a new heist for Garrett’ or ‘reworking a classic level from the series’. Square Enix and Amazon are looking for fans to submit entries in one of two categories; either a short video playthrough of a mod they’ve created, or a pitch for a mod they would like to create.
All submitted entries will be voted on by the community as well as members of the Thief development team, and members of The Dark Mod team. In the end one winner from each of the two categories will be chosen. The winners will receive a bunch of prizes from key contest partners like AMD’s R9 290X video card, a trip to E3, Steam codes for all Square games including strategy guides, game development books for Kindle and a Kindle DX.
Maybe best of all, every contest entry will receive a free digital version of Thief: Gold from Amazon. Check out the contest here and good luck. The contest ends on April 14th.
